    I have finished my 6 years quota of H1B and right now I am on TN visa (I am Canadian). Since I started the green card process a little late, I still need more time to finish the green card process. So, my question is, is there any way I can go back to H1B visa again once my TN visa expires. I can not renew my TN because I have applied already for I-140 and that shows my intent to immigrate to US.

    Was your I-140 petition filed when you changed your status from H-1B to TN? In my opinion, it is the I-140 petition that discloses immigration intent. However, as the previous poster mentioned, your employer can extend H-1B after the I-140 approval. Till then I think you have to continue on TN status.

    yeah the meeting was really good..I got to meet many people but had to leave a bit early. For a first meeting (for me) I got an overview of IV etc and put faces to the handles I see in here. For future meetings I think we should
    1) establish action items
    2) find volunteers to carry out specific action items
    3) set drop-dead dates for each item
    4) find a conduit for communicating back the results /feedback from the implemented tasks (yahoo groups works fine)
    5) list out our progress/obstacles/lessons learnt

    For any reasonable immigration reform to pass, politicians need an urgency to act. That urgency comes only from an imminent threat to their sitting offices - beyond party lines.

    People who are stuck in the immigration process should do a better job in uniting and in working with registered voters so that the issue of immigration reform is a concern for any incumbent elected official.

    No one approach is perfect but undocumented workers do a better job in connecting with their community and letting their voices heard than so called "skilled immigrant" community. Our silence makes CIR amnesty and will be dead on arrival.

    Depending on where you were located in the US, it might be a good idea to enter the country coming from a neighboring country (Canada, Mexico) with your green card in hand.
    In any case dont travel with too many luggages ...

    Hello,
    I was wondering if anyone (preferably a teen, im 15) would like to make a web design site for a part time job (after school or w/e) Im great with flash and ok with photoshop, fireworks, and dreamweaver. Also i would like some1 who is laid back and likes to have fun while working. I wont be paying anybody anything but we will split the earnings of what we do. You dont have to be the best at any progs , this can be a learning experience and a development of a portfoilio for future jobs(must be good/ok at one web design program) Sorry if thats confsing, im not the best writer but if you are interested email me at chaos@flash-matic.com or reply to this

    Thanks again Elaine, for clearing much of the fog in my mind!

    So when she appears for H-4 interview in consulate in India, will there be any questions on her H1 stay in US? Is there a chance of her H-4 getting denied in case if the officer finds her out of status stay?

    Does she need to show proof of her in-status stay while in US for appearing for H-4 interview?

    Are we allowed to appear for our interviews at any consulate in India or are we restricted to appear only that consulate which is in my area of jurisdiction?

    go to uscis.gov and sign up for e-filing. fill in the I-131 form for urself and wife et al. u will seriously save a ton of money that can be done in 15 minutes and follow uscis instructions only.

    did that 3 months ago. got an RFE about photographs not being compliant with us passport requirements. sending response as I type.

    Hopefully you can address the CIS concerns about where you were working by showing that the I-140 is for a future position, and it is irrelevant (for permanent residence) where you worked in the past. However, your past locations are relevant in showing whether or not you maintained H-1B status, and can also suggest that the employer's labor cert for one specific location is incomplete, if it traditionally moves employees around. Good luck.

    Employer can withdraw/revoke/notify USCUS he is no longer sponsor for that particular employee for the position, similar to H1B. You better check with good immigration attorney.

    That is true, however, would that result in the 140 being cancelled? As per several discussions the 140 can still be used for extensions (assuming that the 140 has not been revoked/cancelled by USCIS due to fraud and that the PD is not current for that catagory). Again this is debatable and there are lots of opinions on this issue out there.
    Some people say that the PD of the older 140 (even if revoked/cancelled by the former employer) can be used when the new company clears the labor and is applying for the new 140.

    Why have you created 56,098 threads on the same topic?

    I was trying to post this in each state chapters. Most of state chapters dont have an active thread so created one in some of them. I am just trying to bring attention of any members not aware of this campaign already.

    I agree only crying baby gets milk.
    But only lucky applicants get green card :). Its not based on eligibility alone.
    Now about protests and demonstrations. I dont think it will work in the US for a myriad of reasons.

    I think every year about 30K or more people are coming from India
    on H1B. I think half of them apply for GC. At least 200K Indian nationals
    alone waiting in the line for GC. Why IV has only 5k? We should have atlease 50K members.

    A working plan would be get atleast 100K people to our organization and have everybody contribute $100. That would give us $10Million. We can hire top people and companies to get it done. And donate big funds to these politician.

    What I told is just a dream. Most of us here are free riders. In my company there are 5 people who are affected. I'm the only who checks regulary this site. I have to tell them again and again and again to send a fax or donate.
    So what to do?

    I received my FP notice. My Lawyer also received my FP notice which he mailed it to me. Now I have two copies. Which copy should I carry for my FP appointment? Does it matter?

    Doesnt matter which copy you bring. Attend the FP that is important. They will stamp your notice and sign it. Keep that copy for your records

    I know someone who did not pay the bill but returned to US without any questions

    My parents visited here in US last year. Unfortunately my mother got high fever and admitted in hospital giving me bill of 30000$.

    Insurance company denied my claims as pre existing condition. I tried several ways to convince insurance company but all in vain.

    I negotiated with hospital to pay 15000 and paid off hospital bill.

    I also got a doctor bill later and that went to collections. I didnt pay doctor bill (500 dollars) till today.

    Does this 500 dollar collection notice will effect my mothers next visit?
    If I pay now does it matter anyway?
    Is there any chance of deportation?

    Please advice...
