Smalldog lists the their used iMac (with the same specs as mine except mine has more ram) at $800. $1000 may be high but that's why this is just a feeler. I do have some additional software but my son destroyed the discs (love my 1year old!!) I have dmg. of a few of the programs. I realize though that I can't list them on this forum.

i decided to go ahead and buy a current edition MBA....I think the only thing that I want in a new release would be thunderbolt as that could be amazingly useful especially since laptops nowadays don't have express card slots anymore except the 17"....

Great games have no expiration date ;)
One of my boys has picked this game up again. The last time he played it was on an Athlon XP machine with an FX5500 card and needed oldBlivion to get it working on min settings. On his 2007 iMac, its just night and day difference and he is rediscovering everything again in much higher detail. It is quite a visually stunning game.

Subjectively it feels a little different to me, but I've never had problems with OS X's mouse acceleration anyway, whether in games or otherwise.

I am trying verify if data recovery is possible on a customers Macbook Air a1304 hard drive. Since Apple decided to use that 1.8" drive I am trying to find an adapter that will work in a desktop SATA or IDE that isn't some ridiculous price. The Air had water spilled on it so it will not turn on nor do I have another air to test it in.
From what I can find the Air uses a 1.8" ZIF drive. Would this ZIF CE 1.8 Microdrive to 3.5 40pin adapte (http://www.amazon.com/ZIF-1-8-Micro-Drive-Adapter/dp/B004AXDA82)r work. Perhaps this Toshiba 1.8 ZIF to 2.5 IDE (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-1-8-Zif-2-5-Connector/dp/B0018S9RQG) (I have an external enclosure that works with the 2.5 IDE). I also found this external USB enclosure (http://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Enclosure-1-8-inch-Toshiba-Connector/dp/B0037FR27E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1302904126&sr=8-2). It depends on your needs, if you have two notebooks with the same specs and differing only in weight, the lighter one will probably be more expensive, but if you need something that is very portable then it is probably worth it and thus better. If you don't care about weight, the heavier one will be cheaper and better for your needs.

Does do a what i want but removing my floats kinda makes a gap between the nav and sub nav. Though adding in some floats makes the sidebar move again so i'll need to sort out this gap.

I just removed AdSheet from my iP4 via SSH and ended this annoyance once and for all. No ill effects whatsoever. I was getting the same result when I ran Accuweather, another app that runs iAds. Not any more!!

I know there are many threads on it. But nowhere have I been able to find a clear answer as to whether it is possible or not to perform the following:
- I have an internet box from which I get the connection to Internet
- I have a third-party (Linksys) router that does my routing and my wifi
- My home is built in a way so that I cannot get wifi everywhere (possibly because the Linksys has crappy range), though I think one extra spot would help
Can I use an Airport Express device to extend my Linksys' wifi coverage?
Many threads exist but all contradict on whether it is possible or not to extend non-Apple-based networks with an Apple device.
If not, does the following architecture work?:
- Linksys still there to be doing my wired-ethernet routing
- One Airport Express device plugged to the switch of the Linksys and that delivers wifi
- A second Airport Express plugged in another room that only extends wifi provided by the first one
If this still is not possible, what would be? By now, if you're still reading, you must have gotten a clue of what I am trying to achieve ;)

Ok, I know it's just a wee niggle and I knew that there would be some bashing but it's fairly annoying to see 10-15 posts that are clearly attention-seeking. I'm just saying it's a bit immature to write a post with a title that has so many question marks. Also, the type of thread that has a title like that is likely to be short, pointless and uninformative. I know I'm stereotyping here, but what I'm trying to say is: the thread title normally is just a drop of water that, when you open the thread, turns into a flood.

It's going to be a 27", 1 TB Drive - that's where I'm at now. The question is the same old question, so I apologize for that in advance. But this will be my first real Mac computer, I already have iPhone and iPad.
Considering the following uses (top ranges), how much will I actually need to upgrade from the base model? I know more is better, but is more actually needed?
