i didn't want to do the newby thing and ask 'oh! how is it done?' so i went away and tried to do it myself (ha!)
i tried masking the text and having all sort of thing tweening in underneath, but i can't get the rays to beam out like that
just one question: is it done in actionscript?
PS if you want to take your secret to the grave i won't think anything less of you! :D

As this poll is specifically for the cases transferred from NSC -- CSC --- NSC, can you add more options, like the receipt notices generated between Aug 25 to Sept 10, Sept 11 to Sept 25 and Sept 25 to current.
There would be lot of people in these three categories.
Very much intrested in knowing status of all the cases that have transferred from NSC to CSC and back to NSC.
I tried cannot update the poll, but if AUG guys get it then Sep guys will get it as well...

I went to USA 1 yr back by h4.h1 is approved in nov2007.If i face any queries on h1 in indian emabassy.Can i go by h4 to USA in that h1 query period.i mean without h1 stamping in query period.

It doesn't matter what they said today because everyone who filed in August till now did so based on the assumption that previous editions were allowed. You should be fine. I used the same old form and I doubt that anyone else used the new one.
As an aside, the new I-765 form did not say "previous editions allowed" till someone asked for clarification (I think it was Greg Siskind) and then it was changed. So it's not like a generic statement, it actually means something.

EB2 or EB3? - Before RFE it was EB2 & requested EB2 change to EB3 while providing education evaluation in RFE response.

Per Canadian Immigration law, if a person is offered a PR and if thats not used, then that person wont be given another PR the second time. ....

i talked to my lawyer and he says you need to withdraw the old 485 and apply for new 485 using marriage. he also said that once i withdraw my 485 based on employment my EAD will be revoked too and till i dont get my EAD through marriage i can work. All this didnt make any sense to me. I think he doesnt know what is he talking.

I think you have already paid fees for EB 485? So revoking it wont get those fees back to you. I would suggest, you get married first, then file I-130. If by that time your EB 485 is not approved, you can still file FB 485, whichever comes first take it. You can file both in parallel. Its only a question of few thousand dollars. Attorney Rajiv Khanna has extensive documentation in this regard. You can see his website immigration.com

why not just a tracker? its something that will be needed until the gc is approved - and is a recurring question. the tracker could also provide stats about current approval rate etc.
I think we need to start one more thread to get responses from people who's H1b extension is being denied in last two months and what were the reasons behind it. This will help to get a clear picture of whats happening.

I am going to apply for a position in Oracle but do not know if it files green card or not. I am reluctant to ask this in the interview.(They may prefer somebody who does not need it) . Also I wonder if there is any wait time for them to file the green card after joining. I posted this because I think some of you might be working for Oracle and might be knowing. - New AP is filed/pending, Receipt Notice received
- Employer is a Fortune 500
2) I've read previously that they ask you if you've changed employers since filing I-485. Anybody familiar with scenarios where employers have changed??
3) Docs I need to carry, besides... :

- Current AP Approval Notice
- Pending AP Receipt Notice
- Paystub??

I just got a request from HR saying that I need to sign a promissory note for the total amount spent by my employer on H1b realted fees.
So in short they are asking me to sing the promissory note to get reimbursement for part of the lawyer fees I had paid for this visa extension.
Here are the important points:
0. Total amount is like $3K.
1. 50% owed after 1 year
2. 0% owed after two years of service.
3. 100% owed when employment is terminated by either party :-0
4. 10% per annum interest after the 31st day of termination.
Is this even legal , or it lies in the gray areas for any body to interpret anything they want.
I dont care about the money, but I think this is borderline harassment.
Note:This is not a desi consulting co.

One more question:
When we create a application can we add any member with in the same group. My friend and myself are planning to visit India during the same time. We both are in 8th year extension and work for different companies. Both of us have to get VISA stamped. Can we create in the same application(ofcourse we need to create new application for each one after you create for one person) so that when we want to change dates like prepone or postpone it will be easy for us to modify the appointment date in one click. As dates keep changing every day/hour it will be easy for any one of us to monitor the available dates and change. We can change the dates only once and if we want do it again we need to cancel the appt and create a new one.
